Online Discussions About Migration of Filipino Caregivers Worldwide

Lolita Andrada Lledo, Associate Director of PIlipino Workers Center in Los Angeles, CA

The Bayanihan Foundation will partner with Lolita Andrada Lledo and with the Pilipino Workers Center to lead a series of online discussions among Filipino organizations in the US and in the Philippines about the working condition of Filipino caregivers and domestic workers abroad.  Stay tuned and join upcoming discussion live on steaming video.

Please note that the Bayanihan Foundation DOES NOT provide employment referrals for prospective employers or job placement for caregivers seeking jobs.  This project aims to create a discussion and is for educational purposes only.

Will you give $35 and help us start these educational discussions about the growing migration of Filipino caregivers worldwide? You can donate online by clicking here.

Or you could send your check to Bayanihan Foundation Worldwide, 2020 N. California Ave. Suite 7, Box 147, Chicago, IL 60647. Your donation is tax-deductible in the US; please consult your tax advisor for more details.

        Hello Les,

Thank you for your interest in the Bayanihan Foundation. However, the foundation could not facilitate your search for a Filipino live-in caregiver. The foundation only conducts discussions among nongovermental organizations and nonprofits to alleviate the situation that many Filipina caregivers are currently facing. Please consult the Web for many resources to fulfill your specific caregiving needs.

        Sincerely,
        Dale

My dad had a hemorrhagic stroke 11/5/2010. He suffered numerous setbacks in the hospital before he was able to be discharged to Acute Rehab. From there he is now at a lower step of rehab which we thank the Lord for. Yet, his home care needs have taken a toll on our family. It’s essentially me and my mom. I moved down for four months to help out and I cant really see myself moving back or even carrying on with my life since I know my mother could not handle my father’s needs a lone.

What are my options? Can anyone help me understand this process? I’m so overwhelmed that I’m now online looking for help. Can anyone help?
