We love rice! It’s been a staple for the people of the Philippines, dating back to 3200 BC.  Filipinos eat rice at every meal – breakfast, lunch, and dinner.  We steam it, fry it, noodle it.  Our national dance Tinikling is even about working in the rice paddies.

Having rice at the table is just as important to Filipinos as it is for Americans to have bread. The Bayanihan Foundation Worldwide, together with partner organizations, distributed over 1,000 food packages containing rice to Typhoon Haiyan survivors, in communities in Leyte and Samar.
