In November 2014, the Bayanihan Foundation started emergency relief of more than $15,000 to Giporlos, Samar in response to the devastating super typhoon Haiyan that devastated the island. Since then, the foundation has invested increasing philanthropic donations to the area including donations of computers, library books, fishing nets, and farming supplies. The foundation also leveraged additional funding with the help of the Zakat Foundation, local Rotary clubs and the Medical Action Group (MAG). The success of the projects in Giporlos, Samar and other parts of the Philippines is largely due to the insight and extensive philanthropic expertise of Evelyn Castillo, Bayanihan Foundation Liaison.
In 2019, the Bayanihan Foundation plans to donate thousands of books to multiple libraries and reading centers in elementary and high schools and local barangay centers. Donate to the Bayanihan Foundation to increase its impact for long-term sustainability. Inquire about how you can leverage your donation for long-term impact.
